We would love to welcome you to One Life Church. We are a friendly church based in Easterside, one of Middlesbrough’s established housing estates.

Come and join us on Sunday morning, where you will discover a welcoming and diverse group of people. We endeavour to ensure that every individual matters. We have a big vision to bless people with care, compassion and with the love of Christ.

We meet every Sunday at 10:45am. Our venue is the Easterside Community Hub and you are guaranteed a warm welcome.

If you are a follower of Jesus already you are very welcome. If you are curious to learn more about what it means to be a follower Jesus Christ, or just need someone to talk to, you are especially welcome!

Our meetings are relaxed, informal and accessible to all people, regardless of age or background.

So why not join us this Sunday – it would be great to see you.

One Life Church is new to Easterside, but we have long established roots in Middlesbrough. Under the stewardship of our Pastor Kevin Hornsby and his wife Hazael, the church has been invigorated and burdened to continue God’s work in a different part of Teesside, having previously been based in Eston. Our aim is to offer the Word of truth, a heart of compassion and a practical helping hand to the people of Easterside, Middlesbrough and beyond.
We have recently entered into a partnership with the Hope Centre in Stockton – as we work together we believe this will prove to be an exciting development that will benefit both churches.

Our main service is on Sunday morning. Prior to our meeting, tea, coffee and light snacks are available from around 10.20am allowing people to connect and share with each other. At 10.45am our worship service commences.

When we express our praise and worship to God, we use a mix of modern and more traditional songs and encourage participation from everyone. Messages are short, relevant to everyday life and encouraging, yet not without genuine substance.

We seek to teach, understand and live out the whole message of the Bible, showing it to be good news – a timeless message of hope for everyone regardless of age or circumstance. Our church is open to all those searching for truth, comfort, compassion, love and assurance in the uncertain times in which we live.

Our venue is the Easterside Community Hub and you will be guaranteed a warm welcome.

In our mid-week meetings, we offer further opportunities for people to get to know each other and know God more deeply. These meetings are usually held in the home of our members. Here we seek to learn, grow, care and pray for one another.

We are an evangelical church with a Pentecostal and charismatic flavour and expression.

One Life Church is an Elim Pentecostal Church: part of an established, vibrant and growing denomination of over 550 churches around the UK.

Here are some of our core values

Worship. A church is not just a building. It is where people have a safe place to worship, to learn about God, to share fellowship and encourage one another. Worship is a distinctive lifestyle that reflects God’s heart of love, and it is an attitude that influences our thoughts and actions.

Service. We all have a gift! We encourage people to discover their gifts and use them – to find purpose and satisfaction in helping others. As followers of Christ, we have a mandate to love God and love others, resulting in practical care and concern for our fellow believers and our neighbours.

Community. Community is about taking time to be together and building lasting relationships; our church strives to be a safe place where people are accepted and cared for. You will discover that in addition to our regular meetings, One Life Church enjoys being family through fun social activities.

Mission. The main reason that the church exists is to proclaim the good news of the gospel – that Jesus died for us and by trusting in Him anyone can know the forgiveness of sins, experience eternal life and know Jesus as Lord and Saviour. All people matter to God and therefore you matter to us!

Practical objectives: As our church grows, it is our long-term vision is to offer support in specific areas of need in our local community. We are meeting some of these needs already, some are planned for a later time:

  • Children and youth activities
  • Senior citizens ministry
  • Marriage & family provision
  • Helping the poor and needy
  • Social action
  • Prayer for the sick and hurting
